Tasmanian Devils !

After our tour of the Tasman coast, we headed north.  We didn’t get far… because we were first headed to see Tasmanian Devils!  There are very few left in the wild.  They have been wiped out in large numbers due to a new viral-induced cancer that causes large tumors on their faces.  (Similar to TVTs for all you vet folks.) They inhibit eating, and the devils starve…

There are several rescue-type organizations and zoos trying to save them.  We chose to go to this one…  and felt that our entrance donation might really help.

The little kangaroos are really tame, no food even necessary unless you want to hug them!
