Seems like the best idea, rather than the reverse. It was my first zipline. More fun than I guessed it would be, and cool scenery! We saw several birds, but not much other wildlife. How they build the platforms and ultrasound the trees to check them is pretty interesting.

A vanity plate with Tasmanian tigers! Thought to be extinct by most, but others swear they have been seen. Sasquatch of Tasmania?

The guide kept asking ‘don’t you have any subgroups?’ So I embarrassed him dreadfully (and funnily) by telling him that we didn’t experiment enough in college ; ) The other (female) guide harassed him mercilessly for turning SO red!

After our exciting morning, we acted slightly more sophisticated and toured a few of the many wineries around Launceston.

The Batman Bridge over the Tamar River. It was one of the first cable-stayed bridges in the world.

One of the many small-town pubs. Cool historical buildings in most of the towns.

Echidna crossing

Wombat crossing

We had, erm, ‘several’ adventures on the side of the road for animal or sign photographic opportunities.

My view out the rearview mirror…

Wombats are seriously cute furry guys!
How fun!!! Beautiful pictures!!! When I saw Port Arthur I said to myself, ” kind of strange visiting Port Arthur, Texas that’s where I was born ..” then I realized …. Oh !!! it isn’t Texas !!! Enjoy God’s creation!!
