Diving the Great Barrier Reef ~ Day 1

This was my first live-aboard dive boat.  Wow, talk about being spoiled.  It is really pretty nice to get out of the water and ditch your gear… and have it ready to go when you need it again!

We flew on smallish planes from Cairns to Lizard Island, where we were shuttled out to the boat.  The views as we flew over the reef were stunning.

I was pleasantly surprised that the boat had a large group of mostly single people whose average age was somewhere around 40.  I guess you have to be able to afford to go! Anyway, everyone was really nice and the crew worked tirelessly.  I think a good time was had by all!

Not much more to say, so I’ll just post all the pics.  Click on any to see a slideshow…
