Our Photography expedition and safari began with a trip to a Maasai village. There are over 150 tribes in Tanzania, and they each have their own language though also learn Swahili as a common language. Most of the tribes in Tanzania have become westernized to some extent, but two still retain their traditional way of life. The Maasai live in huts on the plains and primarily raise large numbers of cattle and goats. The well-off Maasai men can have many wives so they will have many children to look after the animals. The Hadzabe tribe lives traditionally as hunter/gatherers.
These are photos from a village of the Maasai tribe.
